Google Play Console — HiveJournal listing copy
Every Play Console store-listing field, ready to paste. Character limits are Google's; the count after each field is the actual length of the copy below it.

Same rule as the iOS copy: this describes what ships in the AAB. No dark mode claim (the app has none), no voice-entry claim (web only). Play's "Misleading claims" policy enforces this as strictly as Apple's 2.3.

Full description (4000)
Full journaling, free — the entire product, not a trial.
Most journaling apps give you a taste and charge for the rest: a cap on entries, AI reflection behind a subscription, your own history locked until you pay. HiveJournal gives you the whole journaling experience for free. Unlimited entries. Moods, tags and notebooks. Goals. Sleep. AI reflection on what you wrote. No entry limit, no trial clock, no paywall on the part you came for.
WRITE
• Unlimited entries in a fast, distraction-free editor
• Mark how you felt and tag entries however you think
• Organize into notebooks — one per project, person, year, or whatever you keep
• Search everything you've written from the top of your journal
TRACK
• Log how you slept, night by night
• Set goals and check in against them
• Watch your stream — entries, sleep and encouragement in one timeline
REFLECT
• AI reflections that read your entries back to you and find the patterns
• Ask JQ, the built-in companion, about anything you've written
• Keep a dream log with steps for the ones you want to chase
SHARE, ONLY IF YOU WANT TO
• Entries are private by default — every one of them
• Share a single entry as a link when you want someone to read it
• Connect with someone through JQ Bridge, or receive an encouragement drop
YOUR JOURNAL STAYS YOURS
• Row-level security means the database itself enforces that only you can read your entries — not just the app
• We never sell your data and there are no third-party trackers or ad SDKs in this app
• Delete your account and everything in it, whenever you want, from Settings
HiveJournal is part of a larger platform you can grow into on the web — stress triage, voice capsules, a writing community, audio fiction — but the journal is complete on its own, on your phone, for free.

Content rating questionnaire (IARC)
Play routes this through IARC. Choose category Utility, Productivity, Communication or Other — not Social Networking, which triggers a heavier questionnaire we don't need. Expected outcome: Everyone / PEGI 3, possibly Teen because of the user-interaction declarations.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Violence | No |
| Sexuality | No |
| Language | No |
| Controlled substances | No |
| Gambling / simulated gambling | No |
| Crude humour | No |
| Horror / fear themes | No |
| Miscellaneous — does the app share the user's current location with other users? | No (Workout Window check-ins store coordinates on the user's own check-in; they are not broadcast) |
| Miscellaneous — does the app allow users to interact or exchange content with other users? | Yes — JQ Bridge connections, encouragement Drops, shared-entry links |
| Miscellaneous — does the app allow users to purchase digital goods? | No — the mobile app has no in-app purchase; subscription management deep-links to the web |
| Miscellaneous — does the app contain unmoderated user-generated content? | Yes (see the moderation warning below) |
⚠️ Play policy risk — User Generated Content. Play requires apps hosting UGC to provide an in-app reporting system and a way to block users. Neither exists anywhere in the product today (searched
apps/mobile,apps/backend/src/routes,apps/frontend/src). Because Drops arrive from other users, answering "Yes" here without a report/block path invites a policy rejection. Same finding as App Store Guideline 1.2 — see app-store-connect.md. Answering "No" to dodge it would be a false declaration; fix the product instead.
Target audience and content
| Field | Answer |
|---|---|
| Target age groups | 13–15, 16–17, 18+ (matches the 13+ requirement stated in /privacy) |
| Appeals to children | No |
| Ads | No ads — the app contains no ad SDK |
| Designed for Families | Not enrolled |
Because 13–15 is included, Play applies its Families policy for teens: no ads (satisfied), no data collection beyond what's declared (satisfied), and the privacy policy must be linked from the listing (satisfied).
App access
Play asks whether any part of the app is restricted behind a login.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| All or some functionality is restricted | Yes |
| Instructions | The whole app requires a HiveJournal account. Sign in with the demo credentials below; the account is pre-populated with entries, notebooks, a goal and sleep logs. |
| Demo username | TBD — same seeded prod account as the App Review demo |
| Demo password | TBD |
Note the same Turnstile caveat as iOS: sign-in runs a Cloudflare challenge when a site key is present in the build. Confirm a reviewer can pass it, or ship 1.0 without a site key in the Android production profile.
Ads, government apps, financial features
| Declaration | Answer |
|---|---|
| Contains ads | No |
| Government app | No |
| Financial features | None |
| Health apps | None (sleep hours and mood are journaling metadata, not health-connect data; the app does not integrate Health Connect) |
