Plant Before the Leaving
from a journal
I can't stop moving, can't rest too long, Or it all falls down, and I get it wrong. They're drowning here in noise and fear, But we see clear, we see clear. I'm planting now what they will reap, Building ground where we can keep Something whole when it breaks apart, Just a vision in my heart. I don't want to swim upstream anymore, Don't want to fight what I've fought before. Let me lay the seeds, let me make the way, Then I'll step back and let them stay.
