Point Seven is a small LLC, early by design. We’ve spent the effort on the products, not on performing a company — the work is well ahead of the audience, and we’d rather say that plainly than dress up a board we don’t have. Here’s who actually builds this, and how decisions get made.
Founded Point Seven Studio in 2024. Built HiveJournal as the bedrock product, then grew the work outward into a mesh of intertwined tools — Cornerstone, Graphene, EmberKiln, WriteCafe, and the QuickSites family — sharing one team and one design sensibility. Background spans software engineering, product design, and audiobook production.
A small founding team and a set of trusted contributors move the work forward across the mesh — for example, Silver Zhao, who wrote the original React Native HiveJournal app by hand and leads mobile development. The people building each product are listed on the studio home.
See who builds the products →There’s no formal board today, and we’re not going to list open “director seats” as if there were one. Decisions sit with the founder and the people doing the work, and — increasingly — with a set of written standards the products hold each other to (honest scaffolding, honest custody, no fabricated endorsements).
As the studio grows and the stakes get real — publishing rights, AI ethics, other people’s data, licensing — that’s when advisors and a board will actually matter, and we’ll add them then: named, real, and accountable, not vacancies on a page.
